Este X-Wing tem algo especial pois ele não é um X-Wing qualquer, ele possui cinco faixas vermelhas(e paralelas) nas suas asas/planadores superiores, ou seja, essa nave é conhecida como "RED 5", a nave que foi pilotada por Luke Skywalker durante a Batalha de Yavin.
Quem não lembrou das cinco faixas paralelas e vermelhas não está perdoado, pois outra dica de quanto essa nave é especial se dá pelo fato dela possuir aquela coisinha branca com azul atrás do vidro do cockpit, aquela coisinha é só o droide astromecânico mais famoso que existe, o R2D2!
